Nick Watson's Medical Fund

Hi, I am Lisbeth Cassaday, the proud aunt of my brilliant 24-year old nephew Nicholas Watson.  Nick was on vacation with his mom (my sister Lisa Watson) in Europe  when the unthinkable happened. On July 10th, the last day of their vacation, my newphew and his girlfriend rented a motor scooter in Nice, France and were tragically hit by a drunk driver who ran a red light and fled the scene with no regard to their condition.

Nick underwent emergency surgery to save his life.  He has suffered a traumatic brain injury of the severest kind as a result of the accident, along with multiple injuries including fractures to his pelvis and spine.  In addition, Nick's healthcare was compromised by the terrorist attack in Nice which happened just four days later. The hospital was overwhelmed and it became clear that we need to get him home immediately.

Many of you have heard me speak about Nick.  He is truly an exceptional human being.  His laughter is infectious, his mind brilliant and his friends many.  Nick had been working at the National Institue of Health (NIH) doing cancer research and was about to go to Med School. His future was bright and my hope is that he get well soon.

Nick's family is in the process of getting him airlifted back to the States, which is not covered by insurance and enourmously expensive. It is anticipated that Nick will amass additional costs not paid by insurance and undergo long term rehabilitation for a number of years.
Nick championed those in need and right now, he could use your help.  Money raised by this campaign will go directly to Nicks family to pay for his medical care.
